Halloween

It was fun to have Halloween on a Friday this year. Bonnie's school had a kindergarten parade where they all got to dress up and then we got to take her home early. But first, Riser wanted one last trip to Pumpkinville.

Last year Riser was enthralled with everything Halloween. He proclaimed it his favorite holiday and had no interest in moving onto Thanksgiving or Christmas. We are not Halloween fanatics so I'm not sure where it came from. We weren't sure if last year was just a fluke, but sure enough Riser cannot get enough of everything spooky/Halloween and still says it's his favorite holiday - even over Christmas. He also has decided Michael Jackson is his absolute favorite singer (because of Thriller and Beat it) and now asks for 'Michael' nonstop.

The kindergarteners were all so cute and Bonnie had so much fun at their parade. The whole school was lined up to cheer them on.

After an early dinner, it was time to suit up for the main event - trick or treating!

They both knew exactly what they wanted to be this year at least a month in advance and never waivered. They were so excited to be a fairy princess and a T-rex.

And Benny blended right in.

Our neighbors had a little trailer hitched to their golf cart which made for a fun ride, although they barely used it once they were running from house to house.

By the end of the night they were ready to go home!

I'd say they did pretty well for themselves. Happy Halloween!

Fall things

Fall is upon us, and with that comes pumpkin patches, pumpkin carving, Halloween decorations, and leaves changing. Not far from us is a little pumpkin patch called Pumpkinville. We usually go once a year, but Riser seems to love it so I took him a few more times while Bonnie was in school.

Mom watched the kids one night so Benny and I could do a date night at Howl-o-scream. It was a lot of fun!

Trip #2 to Pumpkinville.

Eric and the kids made our friendly scarecrow.

Trip #3 to Pumpkinville.

A neighbor hosted a harvest party one night.

There was quite a large bonfire.

We carved pumpkins.

We have enjoyed all the Halloween decorations around the neighborhood.

Bonnie had a little trunk or treat in her school since it was raining out.

The leaves changing have made our drives so much more enjoyable!

Happy Fall!
