Thanksgiving

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. It was going to be a smaller crew with just our family, mom and Eric. Bonnie was my sidekick in the kitchen. We started a little bit of prep on Wednesday then went to kick field goals.

The kicking crew!

Thursday morning we turned the parade on and the kids helped me make pecan pie.

After a lazy morning of watching the parade and cooking, we finally got dressed and Grandma and Eric came over.

Bonnie never tired of helping us in the kitchen. It was fun to cook with these two!

She was also thrilled to have Maggie with us all day too.

Our table set with the china passed to us from Grammy. It was beautiful!

Our feast!

The rest of the evening was spent watching football, braving the cold for a short walk, and eating pie. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The next day we went over to mom's to spend some time with Katie's crew and Eric before he had to head back out of town. We puzzled, gamed, and went on a walk. It was a very relaxing and fun afternoon!

I am very thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives, near and far. Happy Thanksgiving!

Bonnie's butterfly party

Bonnie requested a butterfly party this year. The plan was to have the party at a playground but it ended up raining all day long. So we had to improvise and move it to our house. It was very chaotic and loud but everyone had fun and it worked out great! In the chaos, I did not get many great pictures. Most of these are ones that were sent to me. Thankfully mom got a shot of most of the group towards the end.

The girls were very into crafting.

Bonnie had a fun mix of friends from kindergarten, soccer, church, and preschool last year. Below is her and her bestie from preschool, Eden.

The dollhouse was also a big hit with the girls. They also all got butterfly wings and ended up running in circles around the house for a good while.

Bonnie and a soccer/church buddy.

This is most of the crew, missing just two. It was a whirlwind but everything turned out and Bonnie had a great time!

Bonnie's birthday

Bonnie turned 6 yesterday! She has been counting down the days to her birthday. She woke up to lots of decorations, some presents and donuts for breakfast.

She opened some gifts then she was off to school!

While she was at school we decided to surprise her by painting one of her walls pink.

We picked her up in the afternoon and signed her out early so we could take her to lunch. Then I got to take her to Build a Bear.

That afternoon Grandma came over to celebrate with us and Bonnie was thrilled.

Grandma even made her butterfly cake for her! It was amazing!

She is planning to have a little birthday party this weekend with some friends. It was such a special day - happy birthday to our girl!
