Christmas

Christmas Eve Bonnie was excited to help make and decorate sugar cookies. Riser was also excited to decorate this year, and eat lots of sprinkles.

Don't those look appetizing?

For lunch we went over to Katie's house where she made some delicious soup and was hosting anyone who wanted to swing by before the Christmas Eve service at church. It was so fun!

The service was beautiful, as always.

By the time we got home it was time to make pizza for dinner! A neighbor of ours came over to eat with us, and the kids had fun having someone else to play with. We watched the Grinch, set out cookies and carrots for Santa, and read the Night Before Christmas.

The next morning the kids were very excited to get downstairs!

They were very happy to see Santa did in fact come, and went right into their stockings.

Benny started making breakfast burritos, as per tradition.

After we ate, it was time to finally start opening presents.

Bonnie got the Kirsten American Girl doll I had as a kid, complete with a full wardrobe of outfits my grandma had made.

Bonnie and Riser exchanged gifts which was very sweet. Riser had picked out a pink beaded sparkly trinket container (literally perfect for her) and Bonnie picked out a little stuffed wolf because Riser loves to howl like a wolf and they have been learning a lot about wolves lately. They loved their gifts and I love seeing what they pick out for each other.

Aunt Katie handmade an angel to add to their nativity, which is so sweet and impressive.

After we finished opening gifts we started getting ready to pack up the car to head to Grandma and Grandpa Dave's house for a few days. That will be for the next post. We had a wonderful Christmas and feel incredibly blessed by the amazing people in our lives, especially these little munchkins. Merry Christmas!
