Virginia Vacation Part 2

After 4th of July our vacation at mom and Dave's was in full swing. It consisted mostly of lazy mornings on the porch, baby cuddles, swimming, and lots of visitors.


There were so many pool floats, everyone had to chip in to get them inflated.







We even managed to get a group shot of everyone before my grandparents had to leave, including a couple chickens.


The girls were spoiled with ice cream sundaes after dinner.

Along with s'mores by the campfire!

Opa showed us how to properly roast a marshmellow to give it a fine charbroiled taste.



There were endless things to do including frisbee golf.

Rosie enjoyed her spot by the pool.



They even had wiffle ball, complete with tee for the girls!




We did so much in such a short time, yet it still so relaxing - the perfect vacation! I had so many pictures to sort though; the last part of the trip will be posted very soon!

4th of July

This 4th of July was one for the books! Benny and I flew out of San Diego on the night of July 3rd and arrived in Virginia early in the morning on July 4th. We were tired, but so excited to be at my mom and Dave's new house for the week!

I can't imagine a better vacation house. Even my grandparents were there for a couple days, I wish they could have stayed the whole week!


That evening my sister and her family arrived, finally we were all together!




We ate dinner on the gorgeous wrap-around porch.



They even have chickens!


We enjoyed the best company sitting by the pool.

We even had an unforgettable 'parade' around the pool waving American Flags (compliments of Opa) and singing Yankee Doodle. The girls loved it!



Dave had found some old fireworks he had from 15 years ago, so the guys decided to test them out.

They all still worked! They guys put on an entire fireworks show for us, it was very impressive.



My mom made a delicious American flag cake that she has been making for as long as I can remember.

It was truly the best way to celebrate Independence Day, enjoying the summer with so much family around us. We are so thankful to live in America!

Beach, SeaWorld, Pool - A Hard Life

It's quite a luxury when the only weekend activities I have to blog about recently are trips to the beach and SeaWorld. We know that this won't be our reality forever, so for now - more pictures of us biking to the beach, SeaWorld, and even a little pool action.

This time we biked to the actual beach rather than just the rocky coast.


Water was still too cold to actually swim, as usual around here, but still a fun ride nonetheless.


On our way back from the beach, we stopped at SeaWorld.

After a couple rides at SeaWorld we biked the rest of the way home. We were pretty hot by this point, so before we headed back up to our apartment, we made another pit stop at the pool to cool off.

We've actually been to SeaWorld almost every week during the month of June, as it's currently the only month this year we get free admission. We're lucky because it also happens to be our favorite time to go.

That's because during the summer they bring back all their amazing night shows. SeaWorld turns into Electric Ocean.


We thought the shows would be the same as last year. They had some of the same elements, but for the most part were totally new.



Our favorite show by far is Cirque Electric. I blogged about it last year so I won't say too much about it, other than: 1) This guy with the water jetpack is insane. So incredible to watch. 2) They added in a guy on a wave runner this year. I have never seen anyone do 10 flips in a row on a jetski. Also incredible to watch.



Nights at SeaWorld mean night rides home. We are summer people, and are so happy it's back. Next up is our trip to Virginia - we can't wait!
