Finally getting caught up on the rest of December! I feel like I tumbled into the new year and am now getting back on track with everything. This is all the 'in between' stuff that happened in December before Benny's parents came to visit (which will be the next and last December post).
We went to the Home Depot workshop.
I went to an ornament exchange party with some friends.
We had lots of random holiday crafts and activities to do during our free time.
Grandma took all the grandkids (and me!) to the movies one day - so fun!
She and Dave also watched the kids one night so Benny and I could go to my work holiday party.
We decorated for Christmas and pulled out all the fun holiday things.
Bonnie's class baked gingerbread cookies and when they went to get them out of the oven, they had run away! They ended up making 'wanted' posters for the gingerbread men and going on a scavenger hunt to find them. It was a very big deal and she couldn't stop talking about it for days.
It ended with the gingerbread men back in their classroom the next day and they got to decorate the men and make gingerbread houses for them.
The kids got to open their photo books from Grammy, which are always such a highlight during this time of year!
Lots of dress up and dancing happened.
Bonnie also made a gift for Riser, found a box and wrapped the box as a Christmas present for him. It was very sweet.
We also happened to make gingerbread men this year. After all the excitement at school, Bonnie was convinced the gingerbread men would run away when we weren't looking. We ended up having a very spontaneous scavenger hunt for our gingerbread men, and Riser was thrilled to be involved this time.
There was a LOT of cookie baking this year. Which I actually enjoyed a lot, and I think everyone else enjoyed it too!
