Bonnie had a great soccer season this Spring. Last fall, her team not only lost every game, but they didn't score a single goal (except one when the other team literally parted the way for us because they felt bad for us). Needless to say, we could only move up from there.
The first couple games of the season things weren't looking much better. But all the sudden, a fire was lit and the girls turned aggressive. It was so fun to see!
Halfway through the season, there was a day that Bonnie kicked the soccer ball from the field to the car. Since then, every free minute she wanted to be outside kicking the soccer ball. She still hadn't got a goal yet but was determined. It helped that the coach had incentivized the girls by offering a golden game ball the last 3 games of the season. All the girls were after that ball.
During the very last game of the season, during her very last transition on the field, Bonnie scored a goal. I wish I had it on video!
It was a great season and we loved seeing them really start to love the game.
