Bonnie is 15 months old!

Bonnie had her fifteen month checkup last week. She is a champ when it comes to the shots by this point. She has never had, and probably won't often have an appointment without a shot. Normally the 12 month and 2 year appointments are shot-free, but since her birthday is in the Fall - she ends up getting the flu shot during those appointments.

She is now 21 pounds, 5 ounces (51st percentile) and 32 inches tall (94th percentile). She has a clean bill of health, although we do need to make a couple specialist appointments to check her hearing (routine given the meds she was given at birth), and an exam to see if she has any delays due to her prematurity. It seems she may be a little behind on her language development. She isn't saying any words yet with real meaning behind them.

Aside from that, she is able to sign 'all done', 'goodnight' 'more' and 'please'. 'Please' is her favorite and uses it anytime she wants something. She is also able to nod 'yes' and 'no', but she doesn't actually know what they mean yet either. Bonnie started walking around 13 months and has been on the move ever since. She loves to run around and explore. She loves to climb and is able to get up and down from the couch by herself. If there is a box or anything she can get on top of she will. She loves being around other kids and being outside. She still isn't able to give kisses yet but will often bow her head toward you if she wants you to kiss her or snuggle you. She knows where her belly is and we are still working on parts of the face like 'eyes', 'nose', etc (she knows they are all generally on her head).

Bonnie's curly hair has really started becoming more prominent. It is mostly in the back, it still looks straight on top but she has some pretty tight curls right after a bath. She has 8 teeth (four on top, four on the bottom). She has transitioned from her infant car seat into the convertible one and seems to like it. She is really enjoying her blocks, she will put them all in a container one by one and then dump them all out. She is still on 2 naps a day (around 9:30 and 2 pm) but will probably be transitioning to one very soon. She goes to sleep around 7 at night and wakes up around 7 - 7:30 in the morning.

Valentine's Day

We had a very low-key Valentine's day this year as it was very cold and wet and rainy. We just had a family day at home mostly but it has been fun to get Bonnie more involved as she starts understanding more.

We opened a couple Valentine's Day cards.

We braved the cold to go to church. I think it was the coldest service we have been at yet. I stayed directly under one of the heaters while Eric chased B around.

Bonnie made a sweet sign.

And we did a lot of just snuggling inside in the afternoon.

We ordered takeout for dinner and that was about it! We are so thankful for all of our loved ones, happy Valentine's Day!

Winter catch up

Even though February is the shortest month, it always seems to feel the longest. The holidays are over and it's just cold! We have been doing our best to still get outside as much as possible.

We watched a little bit of the Super Bowl at a neighbor's garage until B had to go to bed.

We have still been enjoying our non-committal cat that comes around when she pleases.

The past week has been so cold we have had to spend a lot more time inside. There have been winter naps had by all of us.

Bonnie has been really enjoying "reading" lately.

She has also been cuddling a little more than usual. Up to this point she hasn't been much of a cuddler.

We've spent some time with the cousins.

And with all this extra time inside, Bonnie has done lots of exploring and finding new things to get into.

We went back to the American Revolution Museum one day when it was cold and rainy so B would have somewhere different to run around.

It's been a cold season but I know Spring isn't too far away! I wouldn't mind one more snow though.

Snow Days

We finally got a little bit of snow this season. We were excited to get Bonnie out and see what she thought.

She has been loving getting outside in general now that she can actually run around. So when she saw the snow she just started waving her arms around (what she does when she's excited) and yelling.

A neighbor friend came over to play for a little bit.

We got a bit more snow a couple days later and made sure to get out first thing in the morning. We knew it would melt away later in the day as the snow turned to rain.

We started building a snow man but never finished.

The backyard was beautiful and the canal froze over briefly.

The rest of the day as it turned to rain we just laid around the house and enjoyed the scenery while it lasted.
