Grammy and Opa visit!

We had the privilege of our grandparents coming all the way out from Texas to visit us this past week! It was an absolutely wonderful time visiting with them.

I'm sure it was a little chaotic at times, but the kids were so energized and excited to have them around.

We took lots of walks, and enjoyed many delicious meals at Katie's house (some pictures compliments of her).

Uncle Benny was able to entertain all the kiddos one night so the rest of us could get a card game in.

Everyone made the drive out to our house one day for dinner and a boat ride. It was so nice they were able to see where we live in person.

Makes my heart so full to have all these people together.

We went to the playground one day.

We even took a walk down to the marina for a potluck dinner overlooking the sunset.

The kids got to enjoy a hayride.

The sunset was beautiful.

The next morning Bonnie and I got to spend a little bit more time with them before they had to take off.

It was such a great visit - thank you so much for making the effort to come out! We love you so very much!

Holly Fork Farm

We went to Holly Fork Farm for the first time this year, which turned out to be a lot bigger and had more to offer than Pumpkinville. I'm still missing apple picking, corn mazes, and haunted forests like we had so readily available in northern VA! But Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed herself which is all we were really looking for.

She loved being toted around in the big red wagon.

She couldn't get over all the inflatables they had. We went on a weekday and there was hardly anyone there.

There was a little area with all kinds of slides and hay bales/tires/etc to climb on.

They had lots of farm animals to see.

We also did a hay ride that took us around the pumpkin patches and to see more animals.

It was a wonderful day! I ended up going back a week or two later with some friends from a moms group I'm in. It was so much more crowded, there were lots of field trips happening. It didn't stop the little kids from still having a blast.

We are thankful to have found another great place to get in the Fall spirit around here. We will be back next year!

Pumpkinville

Recently we went to Pumpkinville, a small little pumpkin patch nearby. It's pretty small but Bonnie had a fun time running around and playing on the slide.

This year:

Last year:

It's crazy how much she's grown this year! Look at all those teeth.

We've had some lovely 70 degree weather recently and are finally getting into the Fall/Halloween spirit!
