Extras

I have a lot of extra pictures that I haven't dedicated to separate posts, but would still like to have on here to look back on. So enjoy some random photos from the last month!

We've taken lots of walks and met a lot of new neighbors. Every time we go to the beach its usually the same group of people, so we've gotten to know them fairly well.

We've done lots of work around the house - and there's still a lot to do.

Before weeding/pruning:

After:

We've had some fun with Bonnie at the playground.

Some cute pictures of Bonnie:

Lately Eric and I have been sitting on the dock and eating popsicles after we put Bonnie down to bed. On this particular night she was up late and joined us.

She's still practicing sitting up on her own.

Hopefully I can get better about doing more posts so I don't have to dump so many random photos each month!

Father's Day

This year was Benny's first father's day! We started the day out with french toast for breakfast per his request.

After church we went to take a hike.

We tried a couple different carriers because we weren't sure if Birdy would be falling asleep or not.

She loves feeling like she's walking with us on her level.

After a while she just wanted to be held - and then did fall asleep.

That afternoon Eric grilled on the new grill he got for Father's Day!

It was a great day - we are so thankful for this guy. Happy Father's Day to our dads, Opa, our brothers-in-law, and all the other dads out there!

Bonnie is 7 months old!

Our birdy is now 7 months old. Three weeks ago she weighed in at 14 pounds, 7 ounces (14th percentile), so we think she is somewhere in the 15 pound range. She also measured 26.5 inches at that time (65th percentile). She has seemed to catch up to her peers despite being 6 weeks behind when she was born.

She can still fit into pretty much all her 3-6 month clothing, although given her length she more comfortably fits into 6-9 months now. She is still wearing a size 2 diaper. She has shown a lot more interest in food this month and has eaten most veggies/fruits/meat/dairy/nut butters that we typically have in our house. She eats 2-3 meals of solids a day and still breastfeeds in between.

She still takes two naps a day about 1.5 - 2 hours each. She also still wakes up 1-2 (mostly 2) times a night. She goes to bed around 6:30 - 7 pm and wakes up between 7:30 - 8 am.

This month her core has gotten much stronger. She is now able to sit up relatively well unassisted, but still needs help. Within the last week she has been getting into the crawling position on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth, so we think mobility may not be too far away! Her hand-eye coordination is also improving, she is now finally able to get her pacifier into her mouth on her own (although she still is a little indifferent about it).

She still loves her walker, johnny jump up, and swing. But she is mostly enjoying being on the floor - she seems very determined to be mobile (I on the other hand am okay with her holding out as long as possible). We are loving watching this girl develop! It's been such a fun stage.

We are also thinking these blue eyes just might be here to stay..!

Weekend at Mom and Dave's

Last weekend we headed up to my mom's house for a last minute weekend getaway. With Bonnie's early arrival and a global pandemic, we hadn't been up since last summer! Needless to say, we were anxious to get up there!

Mom showed me around all the updates and new projects they have going on - those two stay busy!

We got to enjoy sitting on the porch and watch a thunderstorm.
The night Katie and her crew arrived, we hung out in the attic while the kids vied for grandma's attention.

The next morning Bonnie was all smiles getting to see her cousins.

Grandma had all her little chickadees following her around.

Of course, we enjoyed lots of pool time.

Sadly, Bonnie wasn't feeling well and was pretty tired/fussy throughout the weekend. Everyone took their turn trying to cheer her up.

Dave took the kids for rides on the tractor.

This is such a beautiful place to be!

Thank you Grandma and Dave for having us all last minute! It was a wonderful weekend, we love any opportunity we can all get together.
