Texas trip - San Antonio (part 2)

One of the first things the cousins wanted to do was go to Buc-ee's. Once in a lifetime was enough for me but it's always fun to look around. I actually have heard a Buc-ee's will be built within 30 minutes from us in Virginia.

The girls did a little painting. I haven't really braved paint in our house so this was fun for Bonnie.

Who knows what they're ever up to.

One day we went to see Eric's Aunt Diane's new house. She moved back from Alaska about a year ago and had a pool built in her backyard. The kids had a great time.

Bonnie just being Bonnie.

We had game nights. Pay Day was the girls' favorite.

This little man was on the move.

One morning Eric and I took all the kids to a playground nearby to have a picnic and get out of the house for a bit.

When it was hot, being sprayed by the garden hose didn't seem like such a bad idea.

Final recap coming up!

Texas trip - San Antonio (part 1)

Once we arrived in San Antonio, the kids jumped right into play time with their grandpa (Baba Choo Choo) for a little bit before they had to get in bed after another long travel day. The next day was getting settled and staying close to home while we waited for Benny's sister and her family to arrive.

Bonnie is always the first volunteer when it comes to helping in the kitchen.

Finally cousins arrived! And it wasn't long before they all started running around together like family.

That evening Eric's aunts came to visit and have dinner with us.

The next day was Easter! The kids loved snuggling on the couch each morning.

They brought Bonnie and Riser matching Easter t-shirts.

They opened their baskets and then we found a church nearby to go to.

Once we got back the girls were eager to start dying Easter eggs.

In the afternoon Benny's grandma (Beba) and aunts came to watch the kids do their egg hunt and have dinner together.

Eric's family makes homemade cascarones (egg shells filled with confetti). Confetti was everywhere!

Couldn't get a smile out of this guy this afternoon.

The grandparents with their grandkids.

Riser was still practicing walking at this point, still just a few steps at a time.

Bonnie and Sydney all but disappeared by this point in the trip. Half the time I didn't see her because they were always off somewhere playing. Sienna would take off and disappear with Riser, and she was so good with him. I felt pretty useless at times throughout the trip, a welcome new feeling.

It was a lovely Easter and great start to the trip. More to come!
