Notch

The night we got home from Round Hill visiting my mom for her birthday, a cat showed up at our house. It was late and raining so we cracked the garage door open in case she needed somewhere to stay dry.

Ever since, this cat has been spending all of her time at our house. We found out she originally belonged to a house nearby that is known to be very neglectful and just not a very happy home. She wandered into another neighbor's yard who started feeding her and basically adopted her from her original home.
She has all of her shots, and we have talked a lot with her owner. Apparently she is just a bit of a wanderer now, but she sure has been spending a lot of time at our house.
We don't let her in the house (she's not our cat), but she likes to watch us through the window and wait for us to come outside or greet us when we get home.
Before we knew her name we had been calling her Notch because of the notch out of her ear. However her owner says they call her 'Kitty'. Whenever Bonnie is nearby the cat will lay down on her back to show she's not aggressive. She is one of the friendliest cats we've ever met, so sweet!

Fall things

We recently took Bonnie to Pumpkinville to pick out some pumpkins. We actually didn't even end up getting our pumpkins there (as most new parents, we mostly just wanted to get cute pictures of our baby).

And cute pictures we got!

Bonnie loved exploring a new place.

She has been showing an interest in football (probably because Sunday is the only day she sees the TV on).

We tried on some Halloween costumes. We are actually lending this costume to a friend this year but I wanted to see her in it before we did!

This year she will be dressing up like a snail. Any recommendations of what Benny and I should be?

Our house was recently "Booed" and our girl was very excited about it.

She loves her new bow.

And most recently, Eric made a scarecrow for our front porch. I'm thinking we may need to work on a less scary face for it.

Only a week until Halloween - this month has been flying by!

Bonnie is 11 months old!

Bonnie's 11th month started out with another 2 teeth (this time the top two). She is around 18 pounds and wearing between 9 month and 12 month sizes. She is babbling all the time using more sounds, but "da da da da" is still her favorite. She has also been able to repeat "ma ma" a few times.  Bonnie is very interested in facial features, often touching the eyes, nose, and ears on whoever is holding her, stuffed animals, and baby dolls. She has started showing signs of entering the separation anxiety phase, getting sad when one of us walks out of the room. She is officially cruising, pulling up on anything and everything. She has just recently learned how to use her push-walker, although she is still a little wobbly.

We can't believe she is already going to be one next month! We are loving every minute with her.

Mom's Birthday Weekend!

This past weekend we made a trip up to visit mom for her birthday! We also got to meet the newest member of the family, Maggie. Bonnie was very excited, as we expected.

We made some yummy Halloween treats.

Sunday morning the girls headed out for a bike ride on the C&O canal.

It was supposed to rain all morning but turned out to be perfect weather.

Most of these pictures are courtesy of Mom and Katie - thank you!

Back at home the guys did a great job watching all the kids.

It wouldn't be a family weekend without a game - this time Swedish Bridge.

Mom spent some time trying to help the older girls warm up to Maggie.

The grand kids were soaking up all the time they could get with Grandma.

Dave grilled some delicious Salmon and chicken for dinner and Katie made an impressive chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert.

After dinner and cake it was time to say our goodbyes.

This grandma sure is loved by all these kids.

We had such a great time! Happy birthday mom!! We all love you so much <3
