July Update

We are still enjoying extra time as a family now that we're both working from home. It's been a very hot summer, per usual. That means Bonnie and I get our walk or run in early and then any other outing during the day usually needs to involve going to the beach.

We've gotten to know a lot of our neighbors at the beach.

Afternoon golf cart rides have been a lot of fun.
It's been nice to get out to the outdoor service on Sundays and recently went swimming at Katie and Chris's pool. It was so refreshing!

I'm still working on the final room that needs painting upstairs. It's been a slow process but we are getting there.
We tried going to walk around CW one afternoon after a rain storm thinking maybe it wouldn't be so hot. We were wrong. We had a good time but kept it short.

Bonnie has been loving her new freedom to explore, crawling all over the house.
I've been able to get together with some friends a few times too which has been very nice given the current situation. Strange times we're living in but I feel like things are starting to normalize in different ways. Onward to August!

Bonnie is 8 months old!

Our girl is now 8 months old! She won't have another doctor's appointment until closer to 10 months but we believe she is around 16 pounds. She is mostly in 6-9 month clothing and still in size 2 diapers.

Bonnie's appetite has grown, eating much more substantially during meals. She has tried most foods. In return, she has started slowing down on nursing but still has milk about 3-4 times a day.

Her naps haven't changed (two a day, about 1.5-2 hours each). She is now only waking up about once in the middle of the night to feed somewhere during the 3-4 AM hour. She is going to bed somewhere between 7-7:30 and waking up around 7:30.

She has hit some big milestones this month! She is able to sit up easily unassisted and about a week ago started crawling. She loves to get on her hands and feet now too, as if she's trying to walk. She is also seeming to start reaching for us at times. We can tell she is working on her pincer grasp but is far from mastering it. And still no signs of teeth yet! I'm enjoying her gummy smile while it lasts.

She gets very excited and smiley when we go somewhere new or are around other people. She loves going to our neighborhood beach, being in the water and seeing neighbors. In general she is just a very happy baby and we are loving this stage! Being her mom is so much better than I even imagined it would be.

Golf cart

We got a golf cart today! We live in a golf cart community and knew we wanted one at some point. We happened to find a really good deal and decided to give it a shot. It's definitely a bit of a beater and could use a little TLC, but we are excited to have another way to enjoy being outside on these super hot days.

4th of July

We spent 4th of July weekend up at my mom and Dave's last weekend. We got up there Thursday night before everyone else and enjoyed a movie date night which was so much fun!.

Eric showed up the next day, helped blow up the slide and we ended up trying it out in the pool. It was so much fun! Finally a way where both adults and kids could enjoy it.

Katie and her family arrived and got some good cousin time in with Bonnie.

She was in heaven with so many people to give her attention.

It was the perfect weekend for the pool - it was a hot one!

4th of July mom made her annual flag cake, we did lots of swimming, grilling, and Bonnie tried watermelon for the first time (loved it).

We got some great group photos.

And had our new annual parade around the pool - thanks Grammy and Opa! We wish you could have been here.

Dave provided some amazing fireworks once again. It was an unforgettable show!

We left Sunday afternoon, it went by so quickly. There's always so much to do at their house!

Bonnie did much better in the car for this trip. We had a smooth ride back and were able to get ourselves ready for the week ahead.

Thank you so much for having this large crew once again mom and Dave - it was SUCH a great time!
