We moved!

As you all may already know - we moved about two weeks ago! It was definitely sad leaving Williamsburg during quarantine because we didn't really get to take advantage of our last two months as much as we would have liked. Thankfully, we didn't go too far.

It was a joint effort - Eric took a day off to move most of our stuff, and I took the next day off to focus on cleaning up our rental to turn over. It was a lot of work with a baby. I'm excited to be in one place for a while! I realized in the last 6 years I've moved 7 times.

As I mentioned in a previous post, we were so thankful to have my mom come down and help with some painting before we moved in. Thankfully the entire downstairs had already been professionally painted by the previous owners. However the entire upstairs still had off-white walls and brown wood trim.

The hallway looks so much better walking up the stairs now than when it was all off-white/brown.

And just a few photos of the downstairs:

We don't have a dining room table or a second couch or anything at the moment so the living room/dining room is pretty empty. Right now the dining room just houses some of Bonnie's gear.

We still have more unpacking to do but are taking our time - the move took a lot out of us!

We have been enjoying taking walks in our neighborhood and trying to meet as many people as we can.

Bonnie also seems to like the neighborhood beach.

We are so thankful to have found this house and it feels good to finally be moved in! We will definitely share more updates as progress is made.

Family Time

Last weekend we finally got a chance to spend a little time with family after what felt like so long!

We took a walk and hung out at the beach for a bit.

Bonnie got some much-needed cousin time.

Afterward Chris grilled some hot dogs and we got to take advantage of the beautiful weather before all the rain came in.

It has been really hard not getting to see family much lately. It was SO nice to finally feel like things are slowly starting to move towards a new "normal" and get to start seeing some people again.

Bonnie is 6 months old!

Bonnie is half of a year old today! She is 14 pounds 7 ounces (14th percentile), and 26.5 inches long (65th percentile). Her blue eyes are still holding strong and her hair is starting to look a little lighter to me but it's hard to say as it's still so short. She is still in size 3-6 month clothing and wearing size 2 diapers. She is still mostly nursing. We have continued to introduce food here and there but she hasn't shown a lot of interest yet.

She has dropped her third nap and now takes two naps a day that are around 1.5-2 hours. We moved into our new house this past month and she has taken it very well! The first couple nights she actually slept better than she ever has (from 6:30pm - 4am without waking). She is now back to waking up about twice a night.

She is at such a fun age and has a relatively easy temperament, really only fussy when she is tired or hungry. Her personality is starting to show, she is very talkative in the morning and loves talking regardless if anyone is around to hear her.

She still likes the swing, bumbo, playmat, and now is really enjoying the jumper from her cousins and this walker my mom gave us that has toys all around it. She is actually starting to play with the little toys, particularly shapes that slide back and forth. She is rolling over in both directions now with ease. She also found her feet this month and loves munching on her toes.

Mother's Day Weekend

The weekend of Mother's Day this year I received the wonderful gift of getting to see my mom! She came down to help us get the new house ready for us to move into (more on that soon). After a lot of social distancing, it was SO nice to get to see her!

And Bonnie sure enjoyed having Grandma visit too.

As fun as it was to just catch up, mom kept us motivated and we got to work!

We were sanding, painting trim, painting doors, and walls. The entire upstairs needed to be painted.

We honestly couldn't have gotten it done without her. I am SO thankful for her help!

Thank you so much for visiting and for being such a great role model for me!

On Sunday morning I enjoyed lots of cuddles and smiles from Bonnie.

Eric did a face mask with me.

We had church in the family room.

Then I went over to the new house to get a little more painting done. When I got home we took a long walk and Eric made me dinner - ribs!

I couldn't of asked for a better first Mother's Day and am so thankful for all the amazing mothers I know - especially our own mothers, sisters, and grandmothers. We love you all so much!
