September Catch Up

September has been a great month that seems to have flown by. Bonnie had her 9 month check up.

We got to see sweet Jane on her 5th birthday!

Bonnie has been enjoying her own little rocking chair.

A blue heron sits on our dock for hours some mornings.

We've had various play dates with friends. One of them was at Colonial Williamsburg where we happened to see sheep walking down the road. We've seen lots of horses but never sheep, so it was an exciting site.

Bonnie and I got to meet up with my sister and the kids on their most recent field trip.

Bonnie loves hanging around her cousin Rosie when she gets the chance.

We did get rained on but it was so nice to not be stuck in the house!

And of course we've been enjoying the football season, as strange as it has been this year.

We are excited for more Fall things in October!

Bonnie is 10 months old!

Bonnie's two bottom teeth popped up on the first day of her 10th month. We haven't seen any others yet but it looks like one of her top teeth will be coming through any day now. She also had her "9 month" appointment at 10 months so that the flu shot would be available. At her appointment a couple days ago, she was 17 pounds 10 ounces (32nd percentile) and 28.5 inches (66th percentile). She hasn't been too picky of an eater yet although sometimes it depends on her mood. Her favorite foods are still peas, green beans, blueberries, and strawberries. She is still sleeping from about 7pm to 7-7:30 am and takes two naps a day.

Bonnie is pulling up to a standing position on everything now but still isn't very coordinated yet using her walker or when we try to walk with her. We haven't had any luck getting her to mimic any of our signs or clapping yet. She is waving a lot more, but I still don't think she always correlates it to 'Hello' or 'Goodbye' yet.

She gets very chatty when she's happy or when other people are talking around her. She has been laughing a ton, often times all it takes is a smile and she will start giggling at me. She likes to squeal and yell, but when she's babbling she mostly sticks to "da da da da", "na na na na", and more recently it sounds like she is trying to say "muh muh muh." Bonnie still has a very happy demeanor all around and has been a total joy in our house.

Benny's Birthday

This past weekend we celebrated Benny's birthday. We went on a short hike on Saturday. We move a bit slower now with a little one attached to us. The weather couldn't of been better though, we are loving this transition to Fall!

We didn't get far before B was getting hungry for lunch.

Soon enough we were back on our way.

When we got home, it was time to make cupcakes.

I decorated a little bit and we ordered Sushi for dinner.

After church the next morning (his actual birthday), he delved into some delicious Duck Donuts thanks to my sister and her family. He had been talking about Duck Donuts for weeks and it did not disappoint - thank you!!

He opened up his gift from mom and Dave - a self-propelled lawn mower! He was so excited he had to test it out.

He cut the entire front yard in 20 minutes - half of what it used to take.

Eric opened a couple presents with a little helper this year.

It really was a great weekend celebrating this guy. My love and appreciation for him has been taken to a whole new level since stepping into parenthood together. We love you - happy birthday!!

**And a big happy birthday to Jane today!!

Labor Day Weekend

We started off the long weekend with a walk in Colonial Williamsburg on Saturday morning. Katie and her crew was able to meet us last minute, we were thankful we were able to get together with them. The weather was perfect, sun shining but nice and cool.

That afternoon we met some friends at the river and that evening we went to a neighbor's house for an outdoor Kentucky Derby party.

Sunday morning Bonnie and I took off to visit mom and Dave for a few days. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here but I recently lost my job due to the pandemic/downsizing so I've had a little more flexibility!

Bonnie did such an amazing job in the car and was all smiles when we got there.

We took an early morning walk before breakfast.

Eric came to visit Sunday and Monday. We got lots of pool time while we still could. We lucked out with some warmer days.

Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed both swimming and sitting in the pack and play on the side of the pool watching us.

We played a few rounds of ladder ball. Mom was a natural.

We had a very messy spaghetti night that ended in an eventful bath time.

We went to a few thrift stores in town and then spent the whole afternoon in the pool.

It was such a fun trip I'm so glad we were able to come visit! Thank you Mom and Dave for having us, can't wait to do it again.
