Weekend at Grandma and Dave's

We decided to go up to mom and Dave's house the weekend they were watching all the cousins. It was such a fun weekend, she had so much planned! We spent both mornings at a nearby park. This blue hybrid teeter totter was the big hit.

We obviously spent lots of time in the pool. Grandma had a whole system to make sure no child was ever left unattended by the pool.

We played dress-up and bop-it in the attic.

Mom had even planned fun indoor activities like a balloon race that involved string, straws, and a door knob.

Even Uncle Eric made an appearance after a busy weekend of work. He is always ready and willing to jump in the pool.

It was such a great weekend and Grandma did such a great job looking after the kids. I wish we could have made the West Virginia trip afterward but we look forward to the next one!

Memorial Day Weekend

We didn't have any big plans to go anywhere for Memorial Day weekend, and the weather was looking pretty rainy for most of it. Sunday afternoon the rain let off just in time to have Katie's family over and the family of one of Eric's college buddies.

It turned into the most wild series of events that kept everyone entertained! I can't even remember all of it, but it included one the little boy falling into the water, a toilet overflowing upstairs, which lead to water streaming into the downstairs foyer, someone else peeing his pants, and fish biting left and right - we have never caught so many fish in such a short time! It was truly one of the most exciting nights we can remember and we all had SUCH a fun time. Bonnie stayed up until 9 o'clock that night and loved every minute of it.

On Memorial Day, we went to Glendale National Cemetery in the morning. It was a beautiful hidden little cemetery near Richmond. There were a lot of soldiers that died during the Vietnam war.

Whenever we would read out a name, B would blow him or her a kiss. It was very sweet.

Later that afternoon we went to the neighborhood beach. Lots of people were grilling and swimming.

Bonnie was in doggy heaven.

After a busy weekend we came home, Eric grilled and we had dinner out on the back deck.

It was a wonderful weekend. We are so humbly grateful for those who gave their lives for our country so that we can live the way we do.

Sweethaven Lavender Farm

Bonnie and I have been thankful to be able to meet up with Katie and some of her friends on a couple of their Friday field trips. We have discovered a couple places we didn't even know about, including Sweethaven Lavender Farm. It was such a beautiful place! We didn't actually pick any lavender, but enjoyed the ambiance and time with cousins.
