Strawberry Picking

This past weekend we had some time to kill before a friend's birthday party so we decided to go strawberry picking! It was a beautiful day out and the farm was close by.

I didn't actually expect Bonnie to understand the concept of picking the strawberries. However, as soon as she realized how delicious they were (we were told it was okay for her to eat them), she was all about it.

She actually kind of turned into a monster with an appetite that could not be satiated.

She turned from our sweet little birdy into a little gremlin with furrowed brow who could not focus on anything other than getting as many strawberries in her belly as she could possibly get. Reminded me of the first time we ever gave Duncan catnip.

We actually had to get her out of there because she was going a little nuts.

All in all it was a great experience!

Spring Catch Up

It's been so nice to spend more time out and about, and getting together with friends as we get further into Spring. This is going to be a photo dump of just some random things we have been up to.

We have had lots of playdates with friends, cousins, neighbors, our small group, and MOPS (a mom's group).

Thankfully our outdoor church services have been warming up.

Our neighborhood often has a birthday party, a cook out, crab boil, or some other reason to get together and share a meal.

Lots of neighbors have been enjoying coming over to fish in our backyard, often boats will stop by and a crowd will gather.

Bonnie has been enjoying "helping" me weed outside. Really she just likes to play with rocks and dig in the dirt with her pal Notch.

Our library recently had a teeny tiny petting zoo. Bonnie loved all the animals and we go to see cousins and friends while we were there.

We have had multiple girls nights.

One of our friends Molly planned a whole wine and cheese night with wines that she brought here from Italy (where she lives for a few years). I can only attest to the cheese and crackers, but heard the wine was fantastic.

We did a hike at Waller Mill that we hadn't done since I was pregnant with Bonnie. It was so fun and beautiful out. We are loving this weather! We haven't been on the boat yet but that will be coming soon - still need to get it in the water.

We bought a boat!

It has always been a dream of Eric's and mine to get a boat one day, to at least try it out and see if that lifestyle is for us. We looked around earlier in the year but were never able to jump on buying anything quick enough. Since we don't know what we're doing, we wanted to have a boat mechanic friend of ours look at any of the boats we were considering. But boats go quickly around here so we were never able to make that happen. With the weather warming up lately, we thought our window for boat-buying this year had closed.

Until yesterday. Our mechanic friend said that someone was selling their boat at his marina. He had been taking care of it for the past two years and said it was in excellent condition, perfect for a family. It was also an incredible deal. The boats we had been looking at in our price range were beat up, much older, and even more expensive than what we paid for this one.

When Eric and one of our neighbors went to go pick it up, apparently there was another guy that was waiting to buy it for well over what we paid if our deal didn't go through.

Practically the whole street came over to see it and congratulate us. The kids of course loved playing on it and taking turns 'driving' to various countries.

And one of our favorite parts is the name - which won't be changing. Meet our boat, Baby Steps. Can't wait to get it on the water!

Easter

Easter morning Bonnie woke up to her Easter basket and started hunting for eggs right away.

Eric surprised her with an obnoxiously large stuffed bunny. She absolutely loves it.

We enjoyed breakfast together before leaving for church. It was the perfect weather for the outdoor service.

After Bonnie's nap that afternoon we went to Katie and Chris's house for an egg hunt on their street. It was so fun to watch all the kids get so excited and bolt off in every direction.

Slow and steady for this one. I was proud she even got the concept of picking up an egg and putting it in her basket.

Afterwards we had a potluck dinner and just enjoyed playing outside.

We ended the day FaceTiming with Eric's parents before B's bedtime. It was such a beautiful day full of God, family, and fun times. He is Risen!
