VA Wedding

Eric and I headed down to Huntsville, VA a little over a week ago for another wedding of one of my oldest friends. We got there on Friday and were able to help get some last minute things together.

That afternoon was the rehearsal. Since I was in this wedding, I probably took two pictures the whole time I was there - so all of these are courtesy of my amazing fiance' ;)

The rehearsal dinner was in the same tent that was set up for the wedding the next day.

The next morning the sun was out and the weather was beautiful. The guys were up bright and early to start getting chairs/lighting/signs set up.

Looking good!

The stage is set.

The gorgeous bride.

Guests start arriving and the groom is waiting patiently.

The tent was set up right outside the house we were staying in. The house was incredible.

Time for the bridesmaids to line up.

Here comes the bride :)

It was so crazy to be standing up there thinking about hanging out with that girl when she was 11 years old. Oh how time flies.

Mr. & Mrs.! I am so thrilled for these two; they make such a great couple.

Can't wait to marry this man in FOUR months!

A friend of ours quickly put that cupcake stand together for the wedding - turned out so well!

The rest of the night was full of delicious food and lots and lots of dancing late into the night.

We had such a great time and are so glad we were there to celebrate such an amazing couple. Congrats Alicia and Mike!

Celebrations Galore

October has been full of celebrations for us so far. It started out with Eric's dad's birthday on the 3rd. We went over to his parents house to have dinner and his favorite German chocolate cake for dessert.

Then time for presents. They always have all the decorations out for birthdays and leave them out for about a week. It's really fun and makes it feel extra special.

The celebrations continued last weekend when I went down to Smith Mountain Lake for my good friend Alicia's bachelorette party. I went down Friday after work and met them at a Mexican restaurant.

It was really great to see and catch up with her and some of the other girls since we haven't all been together in a while.

It was the same weekend Hurricane Matthew was supposed to blow through so it was pretty rainy all weekend unfortunately. We were hoping to be able to get out on the water or take a hike.

The place was beautiful but pretty much all of our time was spent inside.

Luckily we had plenty of games, food, and gifts to keep ourselves occupied.

We had to at least go down and check out the dock.

We slept in a little bit on Sunday and then it was time to go. Of course, the sun was out just in time to see us off.

Congratulations Alicia - can't wait for the wedding next weekend!

Also, today is my mom's birthday!! Yesterday she was able to meet my brother and I for dinner to celebrate! I still owe her a birthday cake but we had a great time :)

And we're only halfway through the month. Next weekend we'll be off to another wedding. It's definitely been a crazy two months with my two closest friends getting married. After this one I don't think we'll have any other weddings coming up anytime soon (other than our own)!

September catch up

The second half of September for us consisted of some relaxing, taking walks, playing games, watching football, trying new recipes, and some Fall clean out.

On the wedding front, we picked a photographer and a DJ. My mom has been a huge help with that. She came out to meet me and a photographer after work one day. We knew walking away she would be a great choice for us. Then we got dinner and enjoyed eating outside while we still can!

We had a tasting at the venue - I don't think I've ever eaten so much or made so many decisions in one sitting. We all left very satisfied, full, and completely unconcerned about having enough food for everyone come February.

I also had my first dress fitting and I got to spend some time in Leesburg for a weekend with my mom and brother. I must have forgotten to take many pictures from that weekend but it was really nice to spend some quality time out there. I can't believe it's already October!

Eric's birthday

Happy October! I'm a little bit behind on blogging, but hopefully I'll get caught up soon. Last we left off, Eric and I had just gotten home from Colorado early on a Monday morning. Monday night I made stuffed peppers for dinner for Eric's birthday.

On Tuesday (his actual birthday), his parents came over right after we got home from work. They brought over a ton of fun decorations to decorate the house. His mom also made some amazing meatballs for dinner at Eric's request (he had literally been dreaming about them). They also brought over his favorite cake - funfetti! It was so, so nice of them. Next time hopefully we won't just be off travel so we can actually plan and make dinner for them!

The birthday boy.

Time for cake and presents.

We all had a great time celebrating this guy.

Thank you so much for coming over and throwing such a great celebration! Our house was covered in streamers and confetti the next week :)

The following weekend I wanted to be able to do something for him since the weekend before was so crazy. I mentioned a few ideas and Eric decided he would really like to go fishing.

It was a great idea to just enjoy some peace and quiet and get to relax.

We didn't have any luck catching anything but it was well worth the trip. We love any quality time we get together completely unrelated to wedding planning, work, travel, etc.

And this guy definitely deserves to be celebrated. He's pretty great <3
