Bonnie's 2nd Birthday

Our girl turned 2 years old on Friday! We took one final picture with our 1 year old before putting her to bed. I guess we officially can't call her a baby anymore.

Bonnie and I were sick with a cold the week before and were afraid we would have to cancel most of her birthday plans. I'm so so thankful we started feeling better by the end of the week.

She woke up SO excited about her birthday! She felt so special to wear the birthday pin.

She loved all of her balloons and decorations.

After opening some presents, we went to the Virginia Living Museum for the morning.

This girl was all about the underwater animals.

There was also a little play area with a hobbit hole just her size.

After her nap that afternoon, Katie and the kids came over for pizza and cake.

The kids had a blast playing with the little balloon car toy they gifted B for her birthday. She is obsessed with it!

She did a great job blowing out her candles! She was so much more excited this year when everyone sang to her and the cake came out, as opposed to the tears last year. Although she still didn't eat much cake.

I'm so thankful she is going to grow up with family around for birthdays - thank you for coming out!

After cake we went to a free swim event at the rec center. They had raffles with prizes and a fun inflatable obstacle course for the older kids/adults.

Bonnie loved swimming in the zero entry area.

We also loved watching Uncle Chris and Benny run the obstacle course.

After a full day of celebrations, we put a very happy girl to bed. She was in such good spirits and so sweet all day long. We could tell she felt so celebrated and loved all day, I couldn't ask for more.

The next day we had a Friendsgiving/birthday party for Bonnie with our small group.

Bonnie got to play with all her friends and we got to eat some delicious food. We are so incredibly thankful for these people (including the few who were missing).

The kids had such a fun time playing together. It was fun to get a taste of what it's like in the childcare room with this group when we aren't around.

Everyone sang happy birthday to Bonnie and she was thrilled to get to blow out candles again.

This sweet girl had such a wonderful weekend (as did we). We could not be more grateful for the miracle of her life, I honestly cannot fathom a life without her. She is such a perfect fit in our family. I will give a 2 year update very soon! Thank you all for being such a wonderful important part of this girl's life.

20 weeks with baby #2

We are halfway there! I am 21 weeks today and had our last ultrasound a couple days ago. Everything looked great at the scan, he or she is measuring a little ahead (78th percentile) currently. I have been feeling baby move quite a bit the last few weeks, especially around bedtime. Benny has also felt him/her move multiple times at this point.

I've been feeling well and not as tired as I was in the beginning. I notice I have more energy when I stay active so I'm really trying to take advantage of this Fall weather and get walks or runs in the morning where I can. It's definitely harder with a toddler - I'm sure they will be a thing of the past once a second one is in the picture.

We have been working on getting a few things in the nursery put together and hung up. We have also been talking to Bonnie a lot about baby, but she still seems pretty clueless. We have been having a harder time coming up with names this time around - so feel free to send your suggestions! These are the last pictures we will get of this little one until we see him/her in person - so crazy to think about!

Pumpkin Patch

The week before Halloween the ladies from our small group took a trip on the ferry to College Run Farms. My friend Heather and I were 2 cars too late to making the first ferry with everyone else, so we had to wait for the next one.

They got a great group shot though on the way over!

We walked around the pumpkin patch for a bit before having a little picnic dinner together. It was a windy day!

After we ate, all the kids got ice cream of course.

Thankfully we all got to ride the ferry together on the way back, despite forgetting to get a group shot. It's always a fun adventure across the James River!
