An Abrupt Goodbye

It's no secret that Eric's car has had some issues in recent years. Before we moved to California we casually listed it to sell in Virginia. We thought it was the smartest thing to do, but we loved his Tahoe so much I think we were both a little relieved when it didn't get a whole lot of interest, and we knew we would be holding on to it a while longer.

It's now been well over a year since it safely (albeit not very reliably) got us all the way from Virginia to California during our cross-country road trip. Since then it has had some more issues, and we've put more money into it trying to make it last a little longer.
Recently though we've been realizing that some of the issues that are coming up we just don't have the ability to fix right now and are too costly for us to take it in. Once again, we casually listed it for sale. I think I was the one this time secretly hoping it wouldn't sell.

We didn't get much interest for a while, and since we weren't in a rush to get rid of it we weren't entertaining low-ball offers. So when Eric said that someone was going to be coming to take a look one day, I didn't think much of it. Little did we know he showed up with cash in hand ready to pay full asking price.

We officially signed it over to it's new owner from Yuma, Arizona! He was telling us all about how he can't wait to get it out on the sand dunes.

We were definitely sad to see it go, but the new owners have been texting Eric pictures and it helps knowing how much they're enjoying it! The guy that bought it is a mechanic so we know it's in good hands and will hopefully have many more years for them.

We are starting to look for another car, but until then we are doing just fine with one!

  1. Aww what a great way to say goodbye to it though - a loving new owner that can do more for it than you can right now! Makes me happy to hear, and so cool that they sent a pic!!
