A little over a week ago our furniture and things finally arrived! After living out of a suitcase for an entire month, we were more than excited to start making this place feel like home.
A few days before we got our Pod, my car arrived. It was so nice to see that it got here safely. Another little piece of home.
The pod arrived on a Saturday morning. The company we got the pod through (ZippyShell) was eager to get it emptied and taken away because they had to deliver it to someone else right afterward. We told them we would probably need our entire allotted time since we only had two guys and one lady (me) to help unload. Turns out they ended up sending out three extra guys to help us unload free of charge so they could get it back quickly!
It was such a huge help. The pod was completely unloaded in two hours. Keep in mind everything had to be carried all the way into the parking garage, up an elevator, through a hallway, and into our apartment on the third floor.
Because we had so much help, my sister-in-law Alison and I stayed inside unpacking, telling people where to put things, and watching the little girls while the guys brought everything in. It was such a chaotic morning I really didn't get too many pictures.
I truly wish I at least got some better before pictures. Once everything was unloaded, the last thing I wanted to do was take pictures of how much of a mess it was. So the 'before' pictures below are at varying stages of unpacking, but none of them were at their worst.

The guest bedroom was our unloading room. Everything went in here. You could hardly even walk in the room, it was floor-to-ceiling boxes. It was overwhelming to look at. And because of that, I never thought to get a picture of the 'before' because why would I ever want to remember that? So the 'before' picture for this room doesn't do it justice, it was after days of going through and unpacking boxes.

So there you have it! As you can see we still have a few lingering boxes to sort through, but most things have found their home here. We are definitely appreciative to Alison and Shary for their help unloading everything, and I'm so thankful to Eric for all his hard work that day as well. It was a hot morning for the guys and a TON of work but it couldn't have gone any better. It's so nice to finally feel like we're getting settled in!
Love the befores and Afters! Can't wait to see it in person!
