Last week my mom and sister's family came to visit me on the west coast! I'm honestly SO thankful they could make it out this summer, especially before Katie's world gets busier with TWINS on the way!
We did so much, and the girls thankfully adjusted to the time change pretty quickly. The first afternoon I got to show them around where I live and stop by Mission Bay to play on the playground and put our feet in the water.
We set up a comfy little bed for Eleanor in her own secret room (the closet).
After some much-needed sleep, we headed out to Coronado beach the next morning.
Jane loves her grandma - I can't believe how much this girl is growing into her personality. She is so sweet and smiley.
Eleanor loved getting buried in the sand (twice) and then jumping out as the Sand Monster.
Chasing everyone into the water.
After naps that afternoon, some of our California family came out to meet us at Torrey Pines. It was so nice getting to spend some time with them! We only wish we had even more time together. Our time with family is never long enough in my opinion.
Eleanor and Jane did a great job on the sometimes rough terrain.
Eleanor did the entire hike all by herself, most of the time leading the pack.
We could have spent so much more time here - such beautiful views, we didn't even get a chance to go down to the water.
Later that night we celebrated an early birthday in honor of all the Strattons (especially Katie since her birthday is tomorrow!!).
The next morning my sister-in-law Alison and Sydney came out to meet us in La Jolla.
We got to check out the seals at Children's Beach, a first for me too. I'm so glad we did, there was so much to see and do.
My sister is a boss - pushing two while carrying two. No big deal.
Along our walk, we happened upon a guy that was creating big bubbles for the kids to chase and pop.
Eleanor was a champ at popping the bubbles.
Then we found another beach area that you could go down and get a little closer to the seals.
Before we left, we went to check out a nearby brewery for Chris which happened to have some great food too.
That afternoon our CA family came over to hang out with us the rest of the afternoon. We had lots of tea parties in the living room.
Then we went back to Mission Bay to enjoy some beach time and fly a kite.
It was a busy first couple of days and it didn't slow down the rest of the week - next up, Seaworld!
So fun and great pictures!!! We were so glad to come and had a great time!!!
