Mexico - La Bufadora

Labor Day weekend Eric and I drove down to Mexico to cross one more thing off our bucket list. The drive down was pretty smooth, we didn't have too long of a wait at the border.

Once we were in Mexico the drive was gorgeous. It was a little unnerving because we were driving along the side of cliffs, but the water was next to us almost the entire way.

After a few hours we arrived at our little paradise in Ensenada, where we would be staying for the weekend.

The house (Airbnb, Grammy!) was so much nicer than we even anticipated from pictures.

There were windows everywhere with views of the water from practically every room.

The picture below shows the mountain view behind the house. You can also see our little courtyard area where we grilled every night.

The upstairs bedroom felt like a tree house with the windows surrounding it on three sides.

By the time we got in and settled, we had just enough time to take a walk on the beach before it started getting dark. We grilled for dinner and got some rest.

The next morning we headed for La Bufadora.

It was known for it's marine geyser (or blowhole). Vendors would line the street leading to the blowhole trying to sell you anything and everything they could to the tourists.

We ended up buying one pineapple drink and a Christmas ornament.

The end of the street opens up to more ocean views.

The blowhole is the result of air getting trapped in a sea cave and exploding upwards. Pretty cool!

We spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach taking walks, people watching, soaking in some sun.

Below is the courtyard where we would have lunch and grill at night.

There were so many vendors even on the beach. People trying to sell horse rides, hair wraps, handmade jewerly, and one guy who was selling rides on his little powered hang glider.

We also had the best view of the sunset.

Great start to the trip!
