Eric and I bought a house! It's so crazy to say that. We just closed on it yesterday. This has been such a dream for us, I can't believe we are here. We are so excited for this new chapter where we can settle down for a while.
We put in an offer and it was accepted before the coronavirus craziness started. We are praying the market doesn't plunge after all this but we are excited nonetheless. It did make for an interesting closing though.
They had us in a room all by ourselves, while they spoke to us through an iPad from the room right next door. They also had a plexiglass wall in the middle of the table in case any communication needed to happen in person. Not to mention plenty of gloves, disinfectant, and pens fresh from the box at our disposal.
Below are pictures I pulled off the listing so none of the furniture is ours - I'll share updated pictures once we are moved in.
Our new house is in Lanexa, 15 miles northwest of where we currently live. So it will be a little bit of an adjustment being further out of town, and sadly a little further from my sister - but we are hopeful the extra distance won't be too impactful.
It does back up to a canal off the Chickahominy River which is a dream. We have always wanted to live near water!
We still have another month before we move in - I think that will also be an interesting process now that we are all on lockdown. Eric may be doing the majority of this move solo. A huge thank you to mom for being such a huge help and support on this journey!

Bonnie is 4 months old!
Bonnie is 4 months old! At her doctors appointment on March 24th, she was 12 pounds 5 ounces. She is still in 3 month clothes. She is still only feeding once in the middle of the night for the most part, but in the last week she has been waking up a lot more often. We are hoping it is just a regression she will grow out of in a couple weeks. On the flip side, her naps have been improving. She usually has at least two really good naps in the morning and mid day and one shorter one in the afternoon. She still struggles with waking up and not knowing how to get back to sleep but we are seeing improvement.
Her temperament this month has definitely chilled out. She has been a lot more laid back. She also doesn't seem to be as gassy so we are more convinced that was related to her discontentment the last month or two. She still loves her playmats and has recently started enjoying the swing and sitting up in the bumbo.
Her eyes are still blue and her hair is a light brown that still has a reddish/strawberry hue to it. She has been drooling much more and is always making bubbles now. She has started sucking on her hands, but not able to grab anything yet. She is cooing a ton which is so sweet. And this month she also has started rolling over! She doesn't always remember how but when she does, she will do it multiple times in a row (from front to back).

Back to Work
My maternity leave officially ended about a month ago. Thankfully, I have been able to telework since I've been back. It started off a little rocky as we were finding our footing. Bonnie still had a very unpredictable sleep schedule (or lack there of), and I was feeling overwhelmed and guilty as work really started ramping up and new responsibilities were off-loaded onto me.

I am very thankful to say in the last week or two Bonnie's sleep has become a little more predictable (at least for now) and I am getting into a rhythm with work as I learn my new role. Although I will say the Coronavirus chaos has been adding it's own set of curve balls.
I am so thankful to be able to work and stay home with my girl for now. She is growing so fast and I cherish every minute with her.
And for fun.... more pictures of Birdie.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy given the current situation!

Weekend Recap
It has been so nice this past week to see the sun start coming out and the weather warming up. Saturday morning with Katie in Colorado we got a chance to take the kids to the Home Depot workshop to see what it was all about. Sadly the workshop was cancelled at the last minute!
Thankfully they were still giving out the kits to do on your own. So we headed back to our house and had fun making binoculars.
Afterwards we tested them outside on the playground.
Sunday we had a friend from San Diego (who now lives in Norfolk, VA) over for the day. He got a chance to meet Bonnie.
We made brunch, played some games, then it was such a nice day we went down to CW to take a walk.
So thankful Spring is right around the corner!
