Chesapeake #2

Towards the end of July my sister and some of their family had rented a beach house on the Chesapeake for a week. She invited us to come down for a couple days at the end of the week but with everything that's been going on, we didn't think we would be able to make it. We finally decided at the last minute that we couldn't turn down at least getting down there for a day! We headed down on a Thursday after work.

By the time we got there it was pretty late at night so we just visited and then got some rest. The next morning these two were ready to play.

The house they rented was right on the beach which was really nice.

Practicing her balance beam skills.

The house also had a pool in the backyard which turned out to be great because the Chesapeake was full of jelly fish.

We spent most of the day lounging in the pool.

The water had also been pretty chopping for most of the day but it finally calmed down enough that we were able to try out their kayaks.

That night Eric offered to grill some hot dogs for dinner.

Later that night we just took it easy and played some board games.

Eric fell asleep around 8:30 and slept through the night which was impressive and obviously much needed.

They only had the house until Saturday so the next morning we pretty much just helped clean/pack up the house and get ready to head out.

It was a short trip but so much fun and well worth it. We're definitely grateful they let us come down on such short notice!
