First couple weeks home

Our first two weeks home we thankfully had my mom's help the majority of the time. She was such a major help with Bonnie during the day, dinners in the evenings, and Riser at night (so I could get a shower). She worked nonstop to help run our house for us. There was even one night we had just sat down in the evening to hopefully relax for a minute, when we heard a shrilling cry from Bonnie who had thrown up all over her crib. Mom was the one who cleaned the majority of it up and got B back to bed while I was tending to a very very hungry Riser. I'm sure she was exhausted when she went home! We are so so thankful for all her help. Seriously.

Otherwise, we stayed close to home, did lots of snuggling on the couch, playing around the house, walking in the neighborhood, going to the park, and golf cart rides. Bonnie has been adjusting amazingly well. We have been so impressed with her in her new role as big sister. She loves her little brother and loves being able to help in anyway possible. After mom left, Benny's parents weren't far behind - they spent the third week with us. Another post on that trip coming soon!

Enjoy this photo dump from the first 2 weeks:

The cousins got to come meet Riser!

Bonnie and I planted some bulbs by our mailbox in the Fall last year. I told her our flowers would bloom when it was time for baby to arrive. Well they happened to bloom the exact week we had him!

First walk as a family of four.

One of our neighbors was moving and giving away their old kayaks. Do we think we are going to get out on kayaks with a newborn this summer? No, but it sure is nice to look at them and daydream.

We have been given tons of hand-me-downs for a little boy. Bonnie has loved sorting through them with me and trying everything on.

She also has been loving pretending to use all new baby-related things...
