Photo Dump

I'm dumping a bunch of pictures from over the last month here just so I have them documented somewhere. Enjoy!

Can you tell Benny's dad sent some clothes?

And one of my favorite videos ever - catching Bonnie laugh for one of the first times on camera!

Bonnie is 5 months old!

Bonnie is 5 months old! I can't believe how fast time is going. It has been a big month for her! According to our scale she is around 13 pounds. She is now in 3-6 month clothing and still in size one diapers, but will be moving to size 2 once we finish the pack we have open.

The greatest improvement this month has been her sleep. She is still feeding about twice in the middle of the night, but she has learned how to self-soothe. Bedtime and nap times used to be so difficult and she was not getting nearly as much sleep as she needed. Now that she doesn't need us to rock her to sleep or go in her room every time she wakes up she is sleeping much better. She is taking about 3x 1.5 hour naps a day. She is clearly much happier now! At the same time we were teaching her to self-soothe, we also transitioned her out of our room and into her crib. I do miss her being in our room, but it hindered her being able to self-soothe when I was right next to her. It was a big month for sleep progress!

Her temperament as I mentioned before is so much happier and relaxed than ever before. I really feel like we hit a sweet spot this last month (I know, that means she will probably switch things up for us soon).  She has the biggest smiles, especially for her dad. She loves to "talk" and "sing" and is using her voice so much more now. She has giggled a couple times but not consistently yet.

She loves sitting in the bumbo, her swings, the stroller, and still loves her playmat. She will talk to the little animals and is now grabbing at the things hanging above her. She has found her hands and is often either looking at them or they are in her mouth. She can't consistently roll over yet. But she did roll from back to front for the very first (and only) time in the middle of the night recently.

Her eye/hair color haven't changed this month. She is still breastfed 99% of the time, but we have introduced food this month. We have tried a few different vegetables (just steamed so they're soft) and banana. Some days she is interested and some days she isn't - we aren't pushing it, it's just for fun right now. Stop growing so fast!

Easter

Easter looked a little bit different this year not being able to get together with family. Hopefully this is our only big holiday spent in quarantine! We still had a nice time, Bonnie helped paint a picture to drop off for her cousins since we were all missing them this weekend.

Easter morning we had a pancake breakfast while watching the service online.

Bonnie got her first Easter basket.

We even got baskets!

We went to go see sheep near CW.

Bonnie was getting fussy and ready for a nap so we pretty much just jumped out of the car to pet them and then went back home.

We enjoyed some downtime relaxing together. We also FaceTimed with both of our families.

That night we had a nice dinner and played some games after Bonnie went to bed. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Social Distancing

There isn't a whole lot to update on as we have all been staying home as much as possible. It was kind of nice the first week or so but has definitely become harder and more taxing the longer it gets. This is what our social distancing has been looking like:

A LOT of walks - average of about 2 a day. Eric and I are still working full time from home so we usually take a short walk during a lunch break and then a longer one in the afternoon.

Lots of FaceTiming, Marco Polo, and video calls with friends/family. Our small group still meets on Tuesday nights, we watch the virtual church services on Sundays, my MOPS group still meets virtually, we FaceTime with Benny's family when we can, and video message with the rest of our family and friends daily. Our California family even had a virtual birthday party for all the April babies.
We have been playing lots of games.
The stores look the same here as they probably do everywhere.

Lots of work calls with our little helper.

And of course tons of quality time with our sweet girl who is in such a fun stage right now.
Hope you all are hanging in there and finding some joy in this isolation! We will certainly be excited once it is over though.

We bought a house!

Eric and I bought a house! It's so crazy to say that. We just closed on it yesterday. This has been such a dream for us, I can't believe we are here. We are so excited for this new chapter where we can settle down for a while.

We put in an offer and it was accepted before the coronavirus craziness started. We are praying the market doesn't plunge after all this but we are excited nonetheless. It did make for an interesting closing though.

They had us in a room all by ourselves, while they spoke to us through an iPad from the room right next door. They also had a plexiglass wall in the middle of the table in case any communication needed to happen in person. Not to mention plenty of gloves, disinfectant, and pens fresh from the box at our disposal.

Below are pictures I pulled off the listing so none of the furniture is ours - I'll share updated pictures once we are moved in.

Our new house is in Lanexa, 15 miles northwest of where we currently live. So it will be a little bit of an adjustment being further out of town, and sadly a little further from my sister - but we are hopeful the extra distance won't be too impactful.

It does back up to a canal off the Chickahominy River which is a dream. We have always wanted to live near water!

We still have another month before we move in - I think that will also be an interesting process now that we are all on lockdown. Eric may be doing the majority of this move solo. A huge thank you to mom for being such a huge help and support on this journey!
