Chickens

Mom and Dave were getting rid of their chicken coop and offered it to us, which was so so kind. Eric has always wanted to try having chickens so we took this as the perfect opportunity. Back in March we got 6 baby chicks! A week later, Benny brought home 3 more. Bonnie was thrilled. So was Riser, but he is in the stage of tormenting all animals so we can't let him get too close.

For the first six weeks we were told to keep them protected and make sure they had a heat lamp so they stayed in the garage.

Within 2 weeks they were too big for the bin we had them in, so we moved the coop into the garage temporarily. Some friends stopped by to see them before we went on our big trip to Texas.

While we were in Texas, a sweet neighbor looked after them. They had a boy Bonnie's age so they were here at least twice a day. When we got back, they were huge!

Around the six week mark, it was finally time to move them outside.

One of our new favorite spots to sit - watching the chickens.

They've been out in their new home for about two weeks now and seem very happy!
